jmeter software package provides Load testing and performance measurement application (main application), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install jmeter
jmeter is installed in your system.
Make ensure the jmeter package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep jmeter *
You will get with jmeter package name, version, architecture and description in a table
